merlotti
Hi, We rehomed three exbatts yesterday, 2 in much better condition than the other, who laid first, but is a bit henpecked by the others. We've given them three pots of food on the floor so that the little one can always get some without the others bullying him, but none of them have found the water in the glug container yet. I've made them a little porridge so hopefully they'll get some water but how do you teach them? Or do I buy a galvanised-type water feeder that sits on teh floor? Help! I'm worried about them All replies needed, Merlotti x
karlotta
Have you tried dipping your finger into the water to show them that it's water. They are probably used to a drip style feeder so may not have got the idea yet.

jennydavies
What about a tupperware container on the floor ? ours have a large water holder and a tupperware box and they will drink from both.
Chucky Mama
You are not alone. Many with ex batts and none ex batt alike find that they don't like drinking from a glug. My hybrids have never liked ours. I have lowered it and they drink from the top (not too low as if the nipples touch the ground, the water drains out). They much prefer drinking from a dog bowl or one of those plastic water containers.
merlotti
well, while I've been worrying about it, they've been investigating and are happily drinking and splashing around in it! Think maybe giving them time is the key - ooops! Thanks for all your ideas though. Merlotti x
