Christian
Hello to all who garden! Any ideas how to plant a redcurrant bush? (no wise cracks please ) Do they need ericacious (? ) acid soil, like blueberries and cranberries? Please say yes as I have 1 bed filled with the stuff. Thanks! Egluntyne
Have a look here. This is a site I visit quite a lot and it's bursting with useful info. Apparently they do not like alkaline or salty soil.

fluffygrue
Mind, they don't want it quite as acidic as blueberries/cranberries like it. Having said that, I can grow blueberries/rhododendrons in my soil, and also have whitecurrants and redcurrants, so you'll probably be okay.
