PeckyBeak
I have a 13 week old Friesian that I want to get a friend for as I have had to separate her from my other 13 week old chicks as they are much larger and are bullying her. The other chicks are Barnevelders, an Orpington and 2 bantam Leghorns, she is dwarfed even by the bantam Leghorns. Can anyone tell me what the average fully grown weight of a Friesain is and that will give me some idea of what to put with her. I even wondered about a bantam of some sort, if there is one that will grow to a similar size as her eventually. Also, does anyone know where I might get a Poland or a Houdan from around the N.Beds, E. Northants W. Cambs area. Going on a trip to that area at week-end. Redwing
They are a light breed, I'm not sure on size but no more than a couple of kilos I'd say The Birdhaus in Brackley do Polands but thats a bit outside your search area Northampton Poultry Club is having its autumn show on Sunday, they have sale pens too and there are normally quite a few bantams there I do have to say though that few places will sell a single bird so you may struggle

PeckyBeak
Thanks Redwing, have looked at their site and looks like they have a good choice of Polands, but then looked at the map, and it's too far to fit in with the tight time schedule we have. Won't be able to get to the show either. But who said anything about choosing just one Anyone know anywhere else we could try?

Lewis
 Sorry. Can't help with finding a hen though.... Have you checked the Omlet marketplace or contacted the breed society?
Falkor
Oh well, it is Friday! Thanks Falkor, Knowing the end weight helps a lot, she is a tiny girl. You could try Thornes Poultry Centre or Two Pot Bantams. Both have websites if you google. Worth calling before you go as both tend to have limited number of pure breeds.
