Becka
Hi, I'm making a chalkboard for my children and my niece to use as a countdown to Christmas. Can anyone recommend a paint to use on the chalkboard that won't be damaged by them rubbing out the chalk? I would prefer something that can be applied in pen form because I'm writing on the board and I find a paint pen easier to use than a brush and paint. Thanks, Becka
sari
You used to be able to buy chalkboard paint, in all major DIY shops, as they say.... http://www.blackfriar.co.uk/shop/Product.aspx?cId=89&pgId=73&tId=Overview and they do it in an areosol as well....if you google chalkboard paint tons come up! Becka
Thank you for your reply! I haven't made myself very clear, I have the chalkboard paint but I'd like a paint, preferably in pen form, to make a decoration on the chalkboard and to write some lettering - hence the preference for the pen! Thank for the link, there's some really good hints and tips on there anyway. Becka
craftyhunnypie
You need liquid chalk markers. I used to do the menu boards & event boards for a golf club. I used these pens. I bought them from a place called Makro. You would also get them from a wholesalers like JTF or maybe Costco. They do eventually rub out, but I used to paint over the boards with blackboard paint once they needed re doing. Emma.x
