Christmas hamper packaging....

Recommended Posts

In the past I have used boxes, jute bags & wicker baskets....any bright ideas on something different & not too expensive that I can use to pack my hamper goodies into this year?

I would like it to be something useful, that the recipient can find handy around the house afterwards.

I was thinking of using the Waitrose bags for life - there is a gorgeous Christmassy one - but am worried it will look a bit cheap?

I don't think it would look cheap, the Christmassy one sounds perfect!

Hessian type bags for life? I've just had a nice free one inside a box of Typhoo tea bags, everyone seems to do them, do BHWT still sell them?

I don't do hampers, I do lunch bags! I have bought my brown paper lunch bags from Home Bargains and will decorate with Christmas stamps and white emulsion, and tie a candy cane onto the handles with raffia :D

Hi

Sorry Cinnamon to hijack your post- I'm putting my goods in a wicker basket from Ikea and and havent got very far further. I am possibly thinking of packing with shredded brown paper but this may look too brown- I'm not sure- What have other people used to pack around your items?

Does any one have photos of their finished hampers?? I'm sure I have seen some in the past- but on searching didnt find much?

Are you any good with a sewing machine Sarah?

If so - http://www.morsbags.com/animation/

You could make them in fabric suited to the individuals. :D

I really like the bags and shall have a go at them for my Christmas food parcels.

Wilkinsons do a variety of plastic boxes, that you could decorate with Christmas cut outs, stuck on, they can then be re-used for keeping Christmas decorations.

For an eco friendly packing material pop corn makes a good alternative to polystyrene pieces.
