JanTheDiver
When I cleaned the girls coop out yesterday I noticed some leg scales in the poop tray, I looked at all the girls legs and they seem fine and don't look like they have Scaley mite from pictures I have seen. I do have two that are moulting a lot, do they moult their leg scales too? This is the first year they have moulted so not sure what to expect except a loss of a lot of feathers! Redwing
Yes they do moult their leg scales, some do not come free easily and a gentle rub with a finger nail will lift these away
JanTheDiver
Phew, that's good I thought there might be another problem. Thanks Redwing
karlotta
My girls are moulting leg scales like they are going out of fashion at the moment! The trays are full of them!
