Thank Heavens for this forum :)

Recommended Posts

I know Im not a frequent poster on the forum, but i do love reading the posts and getting loads of advice.

I have learnt so much over the months that I have had my girlies. After trawling through recently, I know have very happy girls. I can open their side door because Ive covered it and the eglu in an old carpet, I can clean them out easier and Im not worried about dampness anymore due to elephant grass in the bottom of the Eglu. I tried to get auboise, but cant get it for love nor money here. A local equestrian shop sold me a HUGE big bag of the grass and it was only £5!! Will do the girls the whole of winter and probably a lot longer.

Oh and I do talk in a silly voice to them. Why do we do it? :?: And why do I have the daft ones? Hetty managed, ecently, to get her foot caught in some mud. Instead of trying to pull her foot out, she ended up going round and round in cirlces, clucking and flapping (I think she was swearing!!) until I stopped laughing enough to pull her foot out. Ella has a habit of running so fast down her run first thing in the morning she forgets to stop and bangs into the end. Sam, who i the sanest out of the 3, loves to cluck as loudly as she can when shes produced and egg. Usually, if we are around, she wll kep doing this until we tell her how clever she is :)!egg!!egg!!egg!

Thank you, everybody, for helping me make my girls happy.

I agree, I have learnt oodles and oodles from this forum - more than through all the books I have read - and I think that both my chooks and I are happier as a result. Best of all is the fact that I have seen that there are some really nice, warm people out there and I now know I am not on my own even if I am a bit barking.
