Picked up my son's 'Christmas chickens' yesterday and today we have a lovely dark brown, speckled egg from the Welsummer

Good luck with the egg wait Meezers. I didn't expect to get anything so soon but Medlar (the new Welsummer) arrived with a bright red comb and a good set of wattles on her. As for the other new one, Magda, I suspect we'll be waiting for some time - she's huge but sounds like a baby and there's no sign of any face furniture at all.
