jjmack
Hi, does any one know if you can have 2 itunes accounts running on the same computor? DD getting an ipod for christmas and I don't want her using my itunes and using up all my credit and accessing my credit card! I can't seem to get it to do it and there is no tel no and I have been trying for an hour or so and am now fed up! Have even tried giving her her own user on the computor and going in that way to know avail Thanks Jane
The Dogmother
Yes you can, provided that each person has their own user account set up on that computer. You can set these up via the control panel. My daughter and I each have a user account on our main PC, and each of us has our own itunes account as well. jjmack
I have set up a user account for her and tried it that way but am still getting the same outcome. Do you need to go in via your itunes account and then set one up? Every time I seem to get through to where i think its going to say yes you have an account it tells me to contact support. i have emailed support and am hoping they will come back with some easy option, but any other advice gratefully received
Lydia
It's a long time since I did this but I seem to remember that you can do it the first time you connect the iPod to the computer. You have to have your own user account set up and log on as that user, then plug the iPod in and go through set up. I think that's how you do it. Therefore you'll either need to open up the box and connect it all now or need to wait until DD opens her pressies. It's certainly possible as we have 3 itunes running off the same computer. The Dogmother
Are you using the same email account? You can set up a separate itunes user account i.e. to store and play music, but an itunes store account relies on the email address used for ID, so you'll need to use a different email address. I didn't have any problems ,but I'd recommend that you try searching the itunes user forums and help threads - they are always useful. jjmack
Thanks for replies. I have tried suggestions (apart from connecting the Ipod) and everything you have said Itunes support have confirmed but it still won't let me do it. I will try to connect the ipod and see if that helps. If not I will badger itunes for a tel no, it is so much easier doing it when they are on the end of the phone rather than waiting for an email every 24hrs (although not so friendly for my bank balance) J
Lydia
It might also be worth just googling the problem (such as "set up another itunes account") because I've often found techie type forums far more useful than itunes support at times in the past (and also Kindle support just lately). Good luck!
