thehall
Hi there I'm a pretty much new chicken owner. I got 3 chickens about 6 weeks ago [i think they're now about 22 weeks old]. One of them [a sicilian buttercup] has developed a noticeable lump on her face, just in front of her eye. In diameter, it's about the size of her eye and is distinctly raised into a neat hemisphere shape. Colour-wise, it's just the same colour as the rest of her face, not discoloured in any way. Any thoughts as to what it might be? Trip to the vet in order?
Egluntyne
Trip to the vet in order? I'd say so. It sounds as if her sinuses might be affected/infected.

Shanijo
Hi there we've had the same problem with one of our chucks and it turned out to be a fungal infection. She needed and operation to remove the lump and now she's on baytril to keep the infection away. Our chuck has her stitches out in a weeks time but she has recovered well. If you check my one post on this forum you will see a picture the header is called Chicken with a bad eye help!.
