Alis girls Posted December 25, 2010 Share Posted December 25, 2010 Sorry sounds sinister but isnt - I host Christmas Day at mine now my dad has been widowed since 1995 and my mums sister and her husband come down from East Midlands too. My aunt can be er difficult - shes never had kids and can be a bit OCD and I was worried she would criticise my girls. Her house is immaculate as is her garden and mine lets say is lived in. I made her up a box of goodies - jam, chutney and said " oh thats 4 eggs from my hens - I have 3 chickens now in the garden so the eggs are very fresh!! She seemed genuinely pleased and it appears my lovely gran RIP (her mum and mums mum) had chucks at one time (before I was born I think) and uncle said his uncle had them too. The garden is like an ice rink so them weren't able to have a proper look but my uncle said what good looking hens they were. Proud mum I can tell you. I had a difficult relationship with my family but we had a lovely day and I hope everyone else did too. Its amazing what you find out about yourself.
