4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi all

 

A friend of mine has finally persuaded their OH to get some chickens after visiting mine a day last week.

They like the look of Modern Game Bantam Hens? Can anyone tell me what these are like, and what they need, ect, so i can get back to them.

They are very nice little things

 

They are extremely friendly and quite hardy for their size

 

I wouldnt keep them with anything else though and would make sure the run is covered top and a couple of the sides

 

Small feed pellets are better for them than large ones, pellet size varies between maufacturers though or feed mash

 

They are very attractive but not the most obvious choice for a first timer - keeping any game bird in good condition isnt easy

Having seen the pics of them in Poultry Pages this month I was astonished to see how tiny they are. Adorable (they are secretly on my I want list for in case I ever get a bigger garden) or decide chicken sitting isn't for me).

I would echo that,gorgeous, they won't lay masses of eggs either.

 

I am trying to keep the condition on Indian Game at the moment as they feel like they are getting a little flabby. Swings and mini gym installed!
