Will i get eggs soon?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone i have just joined the Omlet Website because i am a new mum of 4 hybirds. The chickens are approx 24 weeks now as i was told in Novemeber when we bought them that they were 16 weeks old, but i'm not too sure.

They have started getting very red combs and they suddenly seem to have become more vocal which i have heard is a sign they are getting ready to lay, however they don't seem to even go in their nesting boxes - does this matter? do you think i will start getting eggs soon as my little girls can't wait to find an egg?

ANy advice and help would be appreciated

I don't think they all crouch. Willow doesn't crouch - she just runs! I noticed Belle's comb get larger and brighter and she laid a few days later. I saw Willow go into the nesting box the day before she first laid, but that was it. I'm sure it won't be long for you now. It's very exciting getting eggs.
