scarlettohara
When would you say it will be warm enough to put eggs under a broody pekin
Redwing
I'd say March If you have somewhere warmer for her to sit like a rabbit hutch in a garage or well ventilated shed then anytime is probably ok I'd be inclined to break her if she is broody now, it wont be long before she is broody again
scarlettohara
It's the silkie/pekin frizzle - shes been laying since December. She lays for a couple of weeks and then is broody again, if I lift her off the nest she does stay off for a few hours (eats and drinks). However she did a real pancake today, was quite hot and pecked me for my trouble I made a broody cage today so will give it a go
mollyripkim
I'm hoping to get some hatching eggs too for my silkies as one has just been broody but the breeder recommended waiting until at least march as well.
