cluckynikki
Is there anything nasty I can catch from handling my hens? A number of months ago I attempted to wash one of my hens rear ends as the feathers had disappeared/matted and she was rather poo-stained. I was using a rag soaked in water to try and clean up the remaining feathers/stumps and due to the friction of wiping up and down some of the water from her soggy rear end splattered up into my eye/mouth! Having survived two children with nappies I hadn't thought of wearing goggles and protective face gear at the time! I have tried to put worries to the back of my mind but the last few days one of my eyes has been playing up, feeling sore and a bit of pressure behind it. Co-incidence or could it be something hen related?
Cinnamon
I wouldn't have thought it was anything to do with this if it was a number of months ago that you got the dirt in your eye. Probably best to visit the Doctor though.
chuckmum6
I think if you had washed her a few days ago there may have been a link, but months ago I would think it is highly unlikely. If in doubt go to your doctors.
penelope
Hi There I am sure that all will be fine & it will be absolutly nothing to do with the hens but you must get a symptom like pressure behind your eye checked...........you only have 2 of them & they are very useful!! An good opthalmologist would be able to check your eye & pressures out today if you can see someone. Then you can put your mind at rest that its nothing to worry about. Take care. x
