Bantam eggs questions

Recommended Posts

I just love my banty eggs :) If I'm using them for baking then I tend to go by weight rather than the number of eggs. A standard sized shop bought egg weighs 2 oz. Therefore if a recipe calls for 2 eggs I would put in 4oz ob bantam eggs - however many this is :) Remember this means weighed out of their shells. So break them into a cup whip them up & weigh them. Perfect :)

Thanks everyone. I really want different colour eggs but the place near me only has pure breed banties for sale, his LF hybrids have sold out and I want to move away from hybrids anyway. (Well, non rescued ones anyway.)

 Just had a thought though - I sell the excess eggs but people won't mind that they're all brown as that's what they're used to... which means I keep my pretty coloured tiny eggs for myself!

I love it when a plan comes together. :D
