tracyann
Hi, I'm having a few problems with the feeders I have in that my chooks keep knocking their feeders over. Can anyone suggest any hooks that I can use in my pens? Thanks.
Redwing
I have a few different methods that I use Bungee cords from the roof of the run (they cant be too stretchy though as they will raise up as the feeder/drinker gets lighter) they are the easy option Chain from the roof of the run with a metal S hook on the end (Ikea sell the hooks as to places like B&Q) My far and away favourite though are hanging basket brackets, they look neat too. I screw these at about 2ft from the floor then use a looped cable tie with a carabiner hook on the end to hang the feeder at chooks head height. The only drawback to this is that because the brackets are fixed to the side of the run the feed is more exposed to the elements
The Dogmother
I have a couple of unbent wire coat hangers - I have bent a hook on each end and trimmed them so that the feeders and drinker hang at roughly the height of the hens' backs.
