darkwoodali
Help! Last week I ventured back into the world of "work" and left my FIL looking after the kids and chooks. As it was raining quite heavily he decided not to let the girls FR but also unfortunately let them get very low on food. To top it all we ran out of our usual corn (afternoon treat), although they were given raisins and porridge. It might just be a coincidence but both that were laying (the other two haven't started yet) have stopped laying. Absolutely zero eggs last week. Could they just be unhappy at the change of routine and that's affected their laying? Might they be upset at the change of brand of corn? Are they on strike! They don't FR everyday as a rule but they are going to the door of the run everytime I step out of the door. I can't bear the thought of them being unhappy. I've only had them just over a month and they were vaccinated when I got them, how soon would they need worming again? Any advice very gratefully received. Cinnamon
Could be the change in routine I would also give them a week without corn,as it does stop them laying if they have too much. My hens get a handful a week,& no more.

darkwoodali
Woohoo! Girls back on track. After a week off I've now had two eggs a day for the last 3 days. I cut back on the corn as suggested so maybe that was it. Have also been able to let them FR a bit more this week so they seem a bit happier.
