HungryOH
I've tried different feeds over the years and have found that the hens seem to stay away from the 'Grub' for longer with some feeds and have (for example) harder shells with other feeds. These are the ingredients in a couple of feeds from different manufactuers. Can other people add their ingredients lists so that we can compare all of the different feeds ? (I'm not promoting any feed in particular nor advocating changing feeds) Allen & Page Natural Free Range Layers Pellets (PO561) (Best before May 2011) Protein: 16.0% Oil: 5% Fibre: 5.0% Ash: 14.0% Moisture: 13.8% Methionine: 0.3% Vitamin A: 6,000 iu/kg Vitamin D: 3,000 iu/kg Vitamin E: 20 iu/kg Marriages Farmyard Layers Pellets (Best before January 2011) Protein: 17.0% Oil: 4.0% Fibre: 6.5% Ash: 11.7% Moisture: 14% Methionine: 0.3% Vitamin A: 8,000 iu/kg Vitamin D: 2,400 iu/kg Vitamin E: 12 iu/kg Copper: 25 mg/kg

Henchanted
Can I just point out that 'composition' is like 'list of ingredients' ie a list of what is in it, going from the highest to the lowest percentage. Nutritional content or nutritional value is a list of the breakdown of how much of each of the basic food elements the mixture contains ie percentage of protein, fats, carbs, salt etc I'm not sure which we are comparing as people are either listing one thing or the other but not both. I, for one prefer a feed with a much higher protein than some listed so far, I use MoleValleyFarmers organic at the moment as it has 19% protein, but I can't remember the other values.
