paddywacker123
Hello all, I bought 6 Gold Laced Wyandotte hatching eggs via the Internet and they took 3 days to arrive. They were packaged very well in polystyrene and all are in tact. My worry is this. As they have been cold for at least 3 days now, and advice says I should let them settle for 24 hours, is it simply too late to start incubating them tomorrow. I have a Brinsea 10 which seemed to be well recommended on here. All advice greatly appreciated. Thanks, Paul.
TAJ
If they were fresh when sent they should be ok, up to a week should still be a reasonable hatch and then numbers will start going down. Tracy

Redwing
A bit late to reply now but I agree they are probably ok I've incubated eggs up to three weeks old befroe - not ideal but always resulted in at least some chicks Always aim to set eggs within a week as a rule though next time pay extra for next day delivery of they will let you, not only do you get the eggs quicker but that post is enjoys a less traumatic transit through the system as I understand that most of it is sorted by hand. Even better try to source locally if you can as any postage can affect the hatch rate Great choice of chook - the gold laced are lovely

paddywacker123
Thanks Redwing & Scarletohara, Day 1 in the iny today, well when i wake up (just about to finish a night shift). I've been trying to choose which type of hen to incubate for a long time and I always ended up going back to the GLW. I already have Martha and Henrietta (Black Araucana's) and Valentine the Minorca.
