tracyann
Well, who'd have thought it, they have settled in nicely, they love their corn, cabbage and dried mealworms. They started laying on 9 March and I've had one egg a day varying from 36g on the first day to 42g today. Varying colours and shades of brown, not sure who laid which egg.... I love my chooks, they go out free ranging every day for a few hours in the morning as Dad is in hospital seriously ill at the moment with kidney and heart failure, things aren't looking so good there but I'm so pleased I have my chooks, they make me laugh and cheer me up with their "singing". Don't know where I'd be without them. The last week they have helped keep me sane, I've talked to them when things have got hard, they've had me in tears and still manage to do something funny. Poor Oliver the cat has been bitten and has a nasty abscess on the base of his tail, another £74.00 vets bill... Apart from that I'm doing ok... Hope everyone is enjoying their chooks and the lovely spring weather we're having.

Sammiboo
Sorry about your dad. Best wishes to all your family I know what you mean about the chooks. Things at work have been getting me down and all I seem to do is eat sleep and think work. So its a nice hobby to have i enjoy having them and its nice to concentrate on something else for a change. I know i have my OH and the parrot but they are a nice addition to the family
