lillybettybabs
Shrubs and trees in our garden are being eaten by something and they are dying. The grass around the eaten shrubs dies last summer aswell , I don't like using sprays unless i really have to, Does anyone know what it could be? Jools
Are there any other signs of damage to the stems or branches, such as dieback or bark loss? Do they come into leaf as normal and are the leaves being eaten, or do they die and drop? Is the ground disturbed around them or where the grass died? Could someone have accidentally (or otherwise) applied weedkiller - it can drift on the wind if not careful.

Jools
How high up the tree does the damage go? What sort of trees and shrubs are they? What's the pattern of damage to the leaves, or are they eaten in their entirity? Some photos of the damage might help too.

ThinkingChickens
For pests eating plants and trees I use a mixture of warm water with Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. It's very mild and the soap kills off the bugs without any harsh pesticides. This has solved a lot of our garden problems.
