Janty Posted April 19, 2011 Share Posted April 19, 2011 I started wearing glasses full time about two and a half to three years ago. All my glasses bar two are reactolite and I love them. The other two are fixed tint and I use them for driving. Boots frames with fixed tint aren't that bad pricewise when you use the half price offer vouchers. debbier Posted April 19, 2011 Share Posted April 19, 2011 Just got some Boots prescription sunglasses last week when purchasing a normal pair of distance glasses. Only £25 Definitely worth checking if there are offers on. They also had some (more expensive) pairs which had magnetic sunglass lenses to fit on top of the normal clear prescription lenses. These looked very neat, and you couldn't tell they were a hybrid when they were clipped on. I've been to Specsavers and Boots (ex D&A), and have had very good service from both. I have been told that reactolite lenses aren't good for driving as the screen filters out some UV and means they don't darken as they should. A very helpful young man started chatting to us,phoned our opticians for the prescription, & we have an eye test appointment on Friday.
