Lesley
Is anyone else watching the Channel4 programme 'Baking with Eric' ? - Eric Lanlard, whose business is called Cake Boy. http://www.cake-boy.co.uk/ericlanlard.php I caught the programme today, all about cupcakes and worth finding on catch up if you missed it. I'd not heard of him before but I enjoyed the programme - I love anything to do with patisserie, my first proper school holidays and weekend job when I was 15. (.....and he has the same Cranberry coloured Kitchenaid as me )
Chucky Mama
I haven't heard of it, I'll see if I can catch it back. It would appear that all the best people have cranberry Kitchenaids then

Lesley
Recorded programme - as it was on in the middle of the day, I'd recorded it A lot of suppliers were offering a free Kitchenaid Cookbook - I ordered from Wheesh as I also found a voucher code for them. You have to send off the guarantee card to get the free cookbook and wait for up to 28 days but we've had so many Bank Holidays we thought we'd wait a while. Ms Marple
Eh mine is black does that make me any less best? Lol Yep, 'fraid it does My mum bought us a Kenwood Chef 30 years ago as an engagement present. it came with all the attachments and is still going really strong!!! I love the fact that apart from my aga I have something clearly made to stand the test of time. BUT...... am I missing out here? It is retro as in 1981 but not like these gismos you are all swooning over!!! Are they better? or do they just look really cool? Admittedly my Kenwood lives in a cupboard and not out on the worktop!! Come on spill the beans!
Lesley
I've never had a Kenwood although I always wanted one! - I shouldn't imagine the Kitchenaid is any better but they do look good Kenwood have brought out their own version now as well but only in one colour I think. The Dogmother
I have a 35 year old Kenwood with a few of the accessories. I use it at least once a week for various things, and until I got my bread maker 4 years ago, I used it to make bread dough 3 times a week. Apart from the odd service in that time and the replacement of the flex, it is still going strong and I just love using it. A friend has one of these new Kitchenaid mixers and it doesn't do anything that my old Kenwood doesn't do You can often pick them up on ebay Built to last *grins*
Ms Marple
A bit like you and me then Claret
The Dogmother
exactly! I refuse to replace anything which still works perfectly well. I love it like an old friend and it has stood by me through the years. My mother's Kenwood was a wedding present, so must be 53 years old she doesn't bake so much these days, but it's still in use.
