Chocobo
here's a really easy recipe for marbled vanilla and chocolate cake, which i made for my brother for his birthday, it's very simple to make. Ingredients 200g caster sugar 200g self raising flour 200g margarine 4 eggs also 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and a few drops vanilla essence. preheat oven to 180 celcius, (170 fan assisted) mix all the ingredients up to the eggs together in a bowl, mix till it looks creamy and add the vanilla essence and mix some more..., then split the mixture into two bowls, about approximately half each. in the original bowl add the cocoa powder- and mix.. if it is too stiff add a bit of milk.., then put it in the chosen cooking tin , put spoonfuls of vanilla stuff all round the side evenly and put the chocolate stuff in the middle.. make sure its spread evenly... put in the oven and cook for approximately 20 mins, maybe a bit more or a bit less, let it cool and put on the cooling tray.. and then when its finished decorate it.... enjoy! Lesley
That sounds good Gina... I make that size cake and cook it in an 8" tin, at 170C for 35/40 minutes. I'll try the marbled effect next time and fill it with vanilla buttercream.
