Hi all, I got my trio of pekins on Saturday, and my friend took the male for me and gave him a home. I have had a couple of eggs from one of the girls already and wondered how long the eggs they are laying may be fertile from when they were with the cock? Reason I ask is the friend who took the boy on also has a broody hen right now so I was going to give the eggs to him to see if he has any joy in hatching them.

I think the eggs can still be fertile up to 3 weeks later.

They are probably ok for a week or so, it can be up to three weeks but I'd set maybe the next 5 eggs that they lay with reasonable confidence
