The Dogmother
I've just received what appears to be an Omlet notification email from Omlet but it is marked as spam, won't open and is from 'Elastic email on behalf of Barbara@omlet...' Have they changed their email generator? If so, it would be nice to know so that they don't all just get blocked by the spam filters. Ain't Nobody Here
Strange, I'm still getting normal notifications .
The Dogmother
Apart from that first one, which was blocked, they 'look' normal but when I expand the header, the 'from' address is the elastic email one.
Old Speckled Hen
Elastic Email is a mail relay service. Instead of a website (omlet forum) sending mail via its own server, email is directed through the Elastic Email service and out onto the internet. It's usually used for bulk email. The Dogmother
Hmm, I wonder when they started using it - must've been today as my hotmail anti-spam has only just picked it up.
Chucky Mama
I had one a couple of days ago as well as the normal one
The Dogmother
If I expand the header on these emails it says "Elastic Email (mailer@elasticemail.com) on behalf of barbara@omlet.co.uk"
Barbara
Hi Clare, James had to do some changes to the way emails generated by the forum were sent because I was getting so many returned to me. The change to elastic email seems to have solved the problem this end as I am no longer getting any private message/topic notification/account activation emails returned via the postmaster. I don't know any more about it though so if you have any questions, email James or Matt as they will be able to help.
The Dogmother
Thanks Barbara, I just wondered what was going on as there'd been no notification about it, and all the emails were going straight to spam. I can imagine that the new system helps you immensely.
