I was sitting in the garden this morning having a quiet cup of coffee having finished cleaning out the girls' hotel and given them their breakfast, when it suddenly dawned on me just how much damage they've done to the garden within the boundary of their netting. I had to take some pics I know its only a small area, but look what they've done Funnily enough, they don't take any notice of the peony and it is absolutely beautiful The area that they have cleared used to match the rest of the garden on the other side of the netting

There's nothing tastier than a nice succulent garden plant! On the plus side, they have left you with some grass

The toadstools are fab....and the garden looks lovely. You want to see the area where my chickens range. Desolate doesn't come close!

Yes, but I only have two chickens and I have only had them since 15 March

Mine looks like a battlefield - bare earth everywhere - and I have a 9 yr old son who plays football. I have tried to zone the hens off into different areas with poultry netting but they are good at escaping and they stretch their necks through the netting - they seem to think the grass is greener on the other side of the netting.

But then I should have limited myself to 2 hens (very sensible) - I have 7 now!
