Henergy
I'm off this afternoon to Tiverton taking my two eldest boys (10 and 6) on a chicken course for children. Http://chickenmanagement.co.uk I thought it would be good for them & hopefully crank up their interest in the mundane jobs rather than just enjoying the chickens without the chores as they do at present !!!! Plum
Great idea, how did it go? You'll have them running round clearing up the curry poos. and humping the bedding from the run.
laurmurf
i took 3 of my kids on an omlet course before we started and it did make a difference to engagement and involvement!
Henergy
They loved it. The lady was lovely & taught them all about lifting & holding, food, cleaning out, let them meet some chicks, different types of chicken including the cutest fluffy footed cockeral I've ever seen & his darling chicks !!!! It was a lovely small group - only 5 children & they really took it all on board. So hoping to see some helpers at chicken cleaning time this pm !!!
