earthmam1
One of my girls has got a creamy liquidy poop that has some ordinary poop as well - comes out in a bit of a spirt She has not laid for about 3 days (she is 3) sits on the nesting box for quite a long time. She does hunch up a bit and is quiet. She still eats a bit (grapes and mealworms ) I wondered if she is egg bound and have given her some olive oil, bathed her and she is sitting on a snugglepad. I have tried to feel in the vent and the creamy poop came out - I could not feel an egg although she does have a hard area just below the vent. I have lubricated around the vent with oil. If she is egg bound will she get this creamy poop. My other hen had sour crop and was very unwell. We got some antibiotics from the vet but we could not save her (she also had a broken egg inside). Any help please sue
Olly
Has she been wormed recently? I'd cut back on treats for a bit, in any case. It's hard to tell, at 3 years old she may have just given up laying anyway rather than being eggbound. If she's hunched up and quiet, she probably isn't feeling 100%, she could have an infection of some sort. I'm afraid if she doesn't improve, it's probably something that needs to be seen by a vet.
