runny poos with red/dark pink lash type pea sized pellets in

Recommended Posts

Hi there

Have searched for this before posting but can only find posts about Lashes and I'm not sure that these are the same.

We have had Poppy (ex bat) for a year and she has recently started to have runny poos with red/dark pink lash type pea sized pellets in. She seems a little more docile than usual and although she hunts for bugs still, she seems to have a reduced appetite. Still drinking and no obvious fluid in her abdomen (recently lost one to tumour/peritonitous). Any ideas of action to be taken till we can get her to the vet?

Many thanks.

Could be intestinal shedding? This is a link from this forums very useful droppings analysis!

Scroll down and there are some pictures there. There are many different types of runny droppings, you might even see some like Poppy's? Too many treats, worms, even the heat can make poos a bit watery. I'm sure someone a lot more knowlegeable than me will be along soon to give you more advice.

It could be lots of things, I know I keep posting this and I don't work for them or have shares or anything

But Retfords poultry have saved many a chook. :)

You sends a poo sample and 3/4 days later you can ring and get a result..

Cost about £30 and if comes back with nothing at least you have peace of mind and if it comes back with something you also get told exactly what to treat them with.
