Sooo much pooping

Okay, so we've just ordered our second Eglu Go. Unfortunately the Cube was out of our budget and we can't get used Eglu's here in the states, or at least not readily available. We have three chickens about to lay and three babies who are a few weeks old. We have the current three in a Go with a run and are building a WIR where the two Go houses will sit side by side. How do the chickens deal with this? Do they just naturally divide up and go three in a house or are there problems? Anything special I'll need to do after I introduce them properly?

I'm afraid that the most likely thing is that all six will squeeze into one Eglu/Go - leaving you wondering why you bought a second one! They'll decide for themselves who sleeps where, don't worry.

They will cope quite happily. As Olly says they may pile into the one, or they may chop and change.

I have two and they lay in which ever one they fancy...or which ever one doesn't have broody Rita growling in it!

 

Right now - they are all sleeping outside on a high perch in the WIR but before then they would swap and change and sleep in whatever one they liked...

Aww, poor dears. I hope they don't all choose to sleep in one. I guess we'll find out soon enough. The second Go I ordered is backordered until end of July. Eek.
