Hello I have a broody cuckoo maran and I am looking for 2 or 3 fertile eggs to hatch with her in the Rugby/Northampton area and wondered if you lot knew of anywhere good? I'm not too worried about the breed, but they have to get along with two hybrids eventually (so probably not bantams). If anyone knows of some good suppliers of sexed day old chicks, I'm also looking at this as an alternative. The more interesting the breed the better.

 

This will also be my first time breeding chicks, so any tips would be really useful! (Especially a list of things I will be needing). I hopefully have a rabbit hutch lined up for my other chickens to sleep in (they FR in the day), and Mildred will be living in a chick proofed eglu classic (tips on how to chick-proof an eglu classic w/run also helpful!)

Thank you I set my eggs under Mildred a few nights ago (today is day 2!). I should hopefully be updating you all on 3rd July with a successful hatch Fingers crossed!
