Do your chickens look out of condition after worming?.

Recommended Posts

Just wondered if anyone else has noticed their girls look a bit out of condition after worming. They have just finished a weeks course of flubernet and I kept them in the run the whole week except the last couple of nights I let them FR for an hour in the evening. They are silkies and just seem to have lost the lovely gleen to their feathers, they didn,t pass any worms and have no obvious health problems. Henrietta has a bald tummy and a bald patch on her neck so I have treated them for red mite and done the cube just in case. She doesnt appear to be broody although not laid for several days.

Is worming stressful to their systems or is it the stress of being confined as they usually FR all day? I have kept an eye and no one is pecking each other and anyway henrietta is top chook!

Sorry for the ramble but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading.
