Silkiemum
I'm sure there must be guidelines on the run-space needed for hens - plus a sensible limt to keep to for healthy happy hens. I have four chickens - all four are smallish as two are half-slike and two are pure Pekins. I would love to add two more Pekin girls as we love them so much - but I want to be sure I can fit two more in sensibly and safely as I want them to be happy above all. They do not currently free range until I can make the garden a bit more fox-proof ( we live backing onto farmland which is fox heaven), but even when they do get out into the garden, they will not be outside all the time as we are at work. So one way or another they spend most of their time in a lovely WIR which is 2 metres by 8 metres - home is a cube which sits outside the run to maximise their space. Does this sound spacious enough to accomodate an expanded flock? Would welcome any advice - we so hope we can get some more ladies, without having to build (another!) extension to the run! Redwing
The run is plenty big enough to cope with two more chooks

chuckmum6
Loads of space, I think you really MUST get some more as they will be rattling around otherwise, I would think 4 sounds good !
