I bought 6 blue splash silkie eggs off ebay and popped them under Tracey my little Heinz 57 chuck and bang on 21 days 1 egg hatched (that was on 21st June) the other 5 have no sign nor can I hear anything of chicks wanting to come into the world. Tracey is still sitting on them with the little chick under her, should I move her and the chick to the house they will live in until Mary the chick (I'm soooo hoping it's a girl) is big enough, and get rid of the eggs? Flossie the aunt visits Tracey every day and makes her budge up cos she like to lay her egg in the nest, Tracey grumbles but budges up. And yes, once you are satisfied that none of the other eggs will hatch, you should move Tracy and her chick to their new home. It is not a good idea to let your other hens have access to the chick.
