Tesco 5kg Charcoal Briquettes

Recommended Posts

Won't light! An hour and a half later and lighter fluid, white spirit, newspaper with vegetable oil on it, matches, nothing will set them alight! No wonder it was £5 a bag or £6 for 2 bags :(

Any suggestions of what to do before it gets ridiculously late to eat our dinner!?

Edit: Okay, we've stuck 4 kerosene firelighters under the briquettes - if this doesn't work I'm making him order take away!

Briquettes are rubbish, lumpwood charcoal all the way.

you're telling me! it was all they had :( got it going about an hour ago but the charcoal isn't ashing over - we gave up and cooked some stuff on it and it was fine so the coals were at the right temp but it's really annoying that they don't ignite or burn as they should :(

mmmmmm sausages.
