CluckyBucks
Morning all Im afraid one of my hens seems a bit poorly, shes a little puffed up and not very active. I felt her crop this morning and it feels squashy, a bit like a stress ball. Is this Sour crop? and if so, what do i do about it? Im looking for any kind of information/advice really. Thankyou. xx xx
poppy ben grace
Hi, if you go to the chicken clinic section and click on faq there is some info on sour crop there. Hope this helps. I have had a couple of hens with this and if you act fast it can be treated succesfully. I used olive oil syringed down a few times a day and gentle massage and also white maggots. It usually starts as impacted crop then if this isnt moved the crop turns sour which is more serious. if in doubt try and find a good chicken vet.
