CatsCube
well my brood will be 4 weeks old on friday and Im trying to work out who's boys and who's girls, at first I was looking to see whos headgear was growing biggest, but I have to say this makes a lot of them boys. 2 of them have had the combs and wattles go pinky/red as well as being bigger so those I know to be boys, but Im sure there is more than just those 2 out of 17! I wonder if its a colour thing, do certain colour pekins take longer to colour up red? as I have 4 lavender and 4 lemon/buffs where Im sure some will be boys but there is no colouring up, the headgear is very yellow/orange in colour. Green Tea
At four weeks my two pekin chicks looked much the same, one had a slightly larger comb than the other but when I posted pictures on here everybody seemed to think they were both girls. Two weeks on and the slightly larger comb is now much bigger and much redder and I'm pretty confident I have one of each sex I know it's hard but I'd give it another week before you start trying to guess
CatsCube
Pics to see what you think. Here are the blues, as you can se these two are very clear, one girl and a boy The lemon and buffs, no idea maybe one boy?
CatsCube
The lavenders, I think 3 boys and 1 girl And here are the twins, one frizzle one smooth (don't know what colour they are) My other frizzle is a def boy, and 2 silkie crosses I have no idea, but the gold partridge and millifleur both look to be girls

Ygerna
I read somewhere online that if you count the rows of feathers on their wings you can tell. Its either 4 rows or 2 rows, 2 for one sex and 4 for the other, but I can't remember which way round. Also this was just what I read online I have no idea how correct it is

Ygerna
If its two for a boy then I've got a suspicion that the one, solitary chick from my broody hatch is a boy Will wait and see.
