hopingforchickens
Well I've had Cornflake, Henrietta and Lovli Tallulah for 4 weeks now, Cornflake has been laying for over a week, an egg a day and getting bigger and bigger. LT looks a bit further off as her comb isn't anywhere near as big/red, but Henrietta 's is at least as big as Cornflake's and she's showing no signs of getting round to egg laying. This morning when I let them out to fr for a few minutes whilst I sorted out the WIR she got spooked by a pigeon flying overhead and flew into the patio window! I had to go out for most of the day so spent the whole time worrying about her. No doubt that will set her back some more. I'm dying for 3 eggs a day (I know I'm greedy), giving them CAV in their water and Bokashi every now and again, I'm really strict about not giving them treats until after 4pm and then not every day. They all seem really happy and chilled, so is there anything else I can do to jimmy them along or have I just got to be patient? I don't do patient very well
Chortle Chook
I don't think you can hurry nature along really - well not if you want to keep things natural. There are things that can be done, I think, with light levels etc. when it is winter but not at this time of year. Just think what joy you'll have when you finally find that first then another and another
