Henchanted
I will need younger POL birds at some point so... Does anybody on this forum have any experiences, good or bad (PM me if you'd rather) of two chicken breeders near me; 1) JC Chickens of Bristol and 2) Annie Halls Poultry. Or if not, could you suggest good breeders within about 30 miles of Bristol/Bath, I am consciously trying to find good local breeders so I can avoid needlessly traveling further afield. Thank you for any feedback or suggestions
Redwing
Annie Hall's poultry has a very good reputation in the chicken community I've not heard of the other one
muddy paws
I have been to annie halls poultry, and it was lovely magnificent grounds all the birds were free ranging together and you pick your own and they catch them for you. The points of lay hybrids are £16. I have also been to Nibley Bird Farm which is between Winterbourne and Yate , check out there website ,not such a big place but would recommend them as well ,very friendly, and extremly helpful for me as a newbie . They are free ranging and every day they select about 10 birds of each breed ( Hybrids) and bring them into pens for you to choose. so if you go in the morning you have a selection of 10 or more of each breed to select from. However if you go at the end of day there are less in the pen. Been very happy with my four from there all laying after 4 weeks and they were only 12.00 each. They do on occasions sell orpingtons as well as other pure breeds .Sorry never heard of the other place. Good Luck
hammy72
I have been chatting to Claire at JC Chickens and she has been helpful, I am about to get my first 3 chickens. They also do chicken boarding for when we go on holiday. A friend of mine got hers at Annies and is pleased with them though.
