AntonyMJones Posted July 6, 2011 Share Posted July 6, 2011 Hello, sadly we have lost two of our three chickens to what appears to be a respiratory virus within the last 9 days leaving us with our single Silkie. She is showing no signs what so ever of having any problems, we are keen to bring in some other chickens so that she doesn't get stressed about being alone but don't want to risk any other chickens at we get possibly being infected if Dandilion has a virus. hennyjenny Posted July 6, 2011 Share Posted July 6, 2011 Would leave it another week or two. Disinfect what you can and sanitise the ground or move to fresh ground. egglicious Posted July 6, 2011 Share Posted July 6, 2011 I'm new and don't know much but I would take a look at how long it took the last one that passed to come down with symptoms. Was it a few days/weeks after the first one showed symptoms? That way you can get an idea of what the incubation period is for the virus and act accordingly. Good luck.
