xChicken04x
Hi, again iam probably getting on everyones nerves by posting a new question every day but.... you know the roosting bars in the eglu are you supposed to put straw or hay over as padding? because i dont think sleeping on wooden poles would be very comfy. is this what chickens like? thanks for any replies xx
chelsea
no, I dont put anything over my bars. I know what you mean though with regards to comfort, but the chickens are fine with it just as it is and the poo's drop through easily so they arent sat in their poo. The Pearsons
Chicken like roosting bars as it is like being on a tree branch. I put hemcore in the poo trays and in the nest box but they've chucked it out of the nest box and lay on the bare plastic.....
Joan
Hi, again iam probably getting on everyones nerves by posting a new question every day but....you know the roosting bars in the eglu are you supposed to put straw or hay over as padding? because i dont think sleeping on wooden poles would be very comfy. is this what chickens like? thanks for any replies xx Since we bought two new hens (purebreds) to keep Miss Pepperpot happy after her companion died, she has taken to roosting on the branch of a tree at night. Sometimes they are all asleep on the same branch! We are tempted to leave them them, but we usually take them off and put them in the run. Sleeping on a branch doesn't look at all comfy but they seem to prefer it! At any rate, they don't like being moved, unless they are fast asleep, when they don't seem to notice! bronze
does it really take 6 weeks to get you eglu cube deliverd? or is it just an idea of when it will come? thanks very much again! mines going to take about 8 weeks!
urbanchick
Mine is taking exactly 6 weeks. The date is also down to fitting in with other deliveries in your area, so it may be longer than this. By the way I asked about spare roosting bars and they are available, just haven't been put on the website yet.
