Kirstie
Hi I love your chick, multicoloured feathers and teddy xxx your chick looks very similar to 3 of my chicks, although 2 of those have yellow markings on their faces. My other 3 are a pale grey colour. Their mums were bluebelles (so a maran cross rhode island red) and dad is a lavender Pekin. They are looking gorgeous with their wing feathers coming through - they have the dark ones with odd White feathers in xx Good luck with your little one x have you managed to get any other chicks for it's company? My last chick hatched 3 days after the other 5 (bad planning on my part ) so they were all in the brooder very close to the incubator when she was due and they had been really noisy the last 2 days before penny hatched. Then she hatched and was so desperate - her chirping broke my heart as I couldn't add her into the brooder with them until she was dry. Once she was dry I popped her in and they were all silent and cuddled up. I guess they had been all chatting in the eggs at the end and then could hear her when she had pipped - they are a very lovely group xxx I hope you have managed to get another chick - as it's lovely to see them together xxx Good luck x
kaza46
This now the first post since last year and my chick has now become a Mrs Broody - my baby is going to be Mummy!! She is such a big girl now and has done exceptionally well fitting in with the other girls. Just for future reference, although its not recommended to hatch single eggs, she has done so well with us raising her. When the other chicks Mummy when back to her owner we put Scarlet in with the other and it was no problem, and she top of the pecking order (got her bad moods from me PS -They are due on the 21st so fingers crossed all goes well. kaza46
She is a Mummy!!!! Her little chicks hatched yesterday and overnight and she now has 4 fluffy yellow (lucky they don't register they arent' the same as her) gorgeous little chickin lickins. She was teaching them how to eat tonight and i was just sitting there watching them with the biggest smile on my face - i am a very pround "Grandma" indeed. She has and is doing sooo well. One big bonus is that because she is still very close to us she trusts us with her babies and the kids can hold them
