If your girls go to bed in one Go...

Recommended Posts

I had a Go and a Green Frog Design house and I have 7 chooks. When I was integrating mine they slept in seperate houses but once they were all together thay all decided that the Green Frog wasn't for them and they all preferred the Go. After numerous unsuccessful attempts at trying to seperate them to use both houses I ordered a Cube  .I wasn't happy that they had enough room in the Go for them all to sleep together it was just too cramped.Give it a try and see what they do yours might prefer seperate houses. :)

I had the same problem. When introducing my cochins to my bantams one of the cochins decided to sleep in the (pink eglu) (with 6 bantams  ) there was still room to spare surprisingly as they pile on top of each other. However I knew the cochins were going to be huge once fully grown. I sold the !gogreen! and bought a second hand (cube green) and now they all sleep in there. Although it took a while to get the bantams going to bed in the cube as they were scared of the ladder but they seem to have the hang of it now.

The cube would send my husband over the edge at this point. There aren't second hand cubes over here, especially not in my state. They just aren't used as much here....yet. So, I'd need to save $1200 and since we just built the run and bought two Gos I think my husband needs a break from my "I want..." hahaha. I'll have to let them sort things out for now. Maybe they'll realize I want them separate if I keep separating them. Surprisingly though, they do fit with room to spare. Go figure.

If there are in a predator proof run, then I wouldn't worry about locking them up in the Go's at night. Leave the doors open and they should be fine.

I have 2 (blue eglu)(orange eglu) and at one point all six of mine would sleep in one (blue eglu) I stopped shuffling them around every night and left them to it.:lol:

TBH if they are happy piled on top of each other I would leave them to it. Having said that if you keep putting them in the 'right' place at night, they'll wake up where you wan them and might get the idea. It's not like you're not giving them the option and keeping them cramped. If they choose to be daft I'd leave them to it
