quailtastic
We got our quail on Sunday and my 5 year old daughter's favourite, Emily is injured I suspect a cat had a go at her as a cat was seen lurking around yesterday. She has a reasonable large section of her wing missing, and is very quiet and taken herself away from the group. there is a bit of blood, not loads. She is walking around although her wing looks broken. Is there anything I can do? Can she survive with a broken wing? Any advice would be most welcome, thank you. Chucky Mama
She can survive but I wouldn't fancy having a broken wing and no pain relief However small these creatures are they still feel pain and I would be inclined to get a vet to have a quick look at her. They would also be able to say whether it is infected. If so her prospects may not be as good. Bone infections are nasty.
scarlettohara
Make sure that the quail are not picking on each other. She will need to be pts I think

beach chick
sorry to hear that... quail are not easy. they tend to be dense, and sleep next to the wire which leaves them open to attack by predators (cats, foxes) or else they will fight and hurt each other if the gender balance is wrong. hoping its plain sailing (quailing?) for you now.
