Shelley
One of our four gingernuts has stopped laying. They're only 15 months old so I presume it isn't an age thing. Any idea what the cause might be and whether I can encourage her to start laying again? It's been a couple of months now.
Egluntyne
Has she been wormed with Flubenvet? Are you sure she hasn't taken to laying under a shrub? Is she eating a good quality brand of layers pellets or mash, and not eating too much in the way of s"Ooops, word censored!"s/treats. There are umpteen threads on this sort of thing. If you use the search facility, you might find some help.
KimmyCustard
Egluntyne - I wormed my girls about 10 days ago and this morning I noticed one worm in Marge's poop. Do I worm them again or does the Flub take a while to be absorbed? Thanks .
Egluntyne
The Flubenvet works on the worms, not on the hens IYSWIM. Was it a wriggler or a dead 'un?
witzend
What's IYSWIM ?
KimmyCustard
It was a wiggler but just the one! (that I could see after poking with a stick ) IYSWIM - If you see what I mean.....
Egluntyne
I'd keep assessing the situation, and reworm in a couple of weeks if necessary.
