Unsecure chicken perches

Yesterday i opened a thread about a new routine for my girls

they have free ranged from 9am-bedtime for months, unless we are going out they go in earlier or get let out later.

I am starting a new routine where they will be FRing one week at 9am-1pm and the other week 2pm-bedtime

I get mixed opinions on here though, does it actually harm hens to be out all day or should they be in the run to fill up on their food for half a day?

I know what my darlings would prefer but whats best for them?
