First a happy day, then a sad day...

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Today started out so awesome. I brought home ten baby chicks. They were all so beautiful. I was in heaven. Once I got to the store to pick them out I ended up bringing home some I didn't plan on getting, like two little gorgeous Rhode Island Red bantams...

Well, all was well so my mom and I went out and left my son with the sitter, who also had instructions to check on the chickies... Then I get a text that one of them had passed. :( One of my precious Rhodies. :(:(:( I guess the shock of the move was just too much for him because I can't think of anything else that could have gone wrong. All the rest seem quite hardy.

I know that it kind of comes with the territory, but I feel awful. To top it off I got into it with my mother, who in her effort to help told me I shouldn't put so much into all of this. I can't help it. Once you come into my care I want you to have the very best, even if you are just a chicken...

Thanks for listening.

Thanks everyone. I feel a lot better now and my chicks are doing well. They totally just gobbled down some yogurt mixed with feed. Everyone is eating and drinking well. On Monday if all is well I will pick up another Rhode island red banty... and maybe something else like a partridge cochin bantam.. ;-)

Pics soon...
