Tigerlily
Hiya, Rosie (one of my new girls) has a cold I think -she has a snotty nose and sneezing. I've tried giving a pellet porridge with garlic and poultry spice in, but she wasn't interested Does anyone have any ideas as to what to try next? Should I mix the garlic and poultry spice directly into their pellets? Thanks in advance x
Henslaved
I'm no expert but it sounds like it could possibly be Mycoplasma which is sometimes brought on by the stress of the move. A course of Tylan from the vets should sort her out.
gongladosh
one of mine sneezes when she's broody. myco's a possibility though. Are there any bubbles around her eyes?
Tigerlily
Thank you Is there a way of telling a difference between a cold and Myco? Her eyes are bright and no bubbles, but her nose is very snotty she isn't wheezing but just sneezing. She's eating, drinking and doing chickeny things as normal and the other girls are showing no signs of similar symptoms. I've added ACV and lifeguard to the water and garlic powder/poultry spice to their pellets. Is it safe to monitor her over the next 48 hours and there is no improvement book her in at the vets? Henslaved
I would say so. It may just be a cold, but keep a close eye on your other girls and look out for the bubbly eyes (which don't always appear at the same time as the runny nose).
